Obama's speech...

I guess I'll weigh in on the Great Obamanator's speech today.

First off all of the criticism is phoney. Conservatives complaining of indoctrination need to get their kids out of the public schools and ignore compulsory attendance laws. Now, of course they won't ever do that.

If you want to make a conservative upset, ask them "why do you only agree with Right Wing Socialism and, isnt that an oxymoron?" That may leave them stammering and at a loss for words. Conservatives just say these libertarian things because they sound good with the Obamanator in office. But, let a Republican get back in office and its back to extreme nationalism and all dissenters must be wacko liberals! You could also ask, "when's the last time Republicans actually cut government?"

But, I digress. Principled opposition pushes for alternative free market educational options. No laws stating that you MUST go to school. Free market education could include all kinds of trade schools for all ages, science schools, medical education beginning at younger ages, who knows?

Free markets and voluntary education -- these are the solutions.

Not impressed with Palin...

Instituted a huge debt burden for her constituents to pay..

Supported and passed a huge windfall profits tax on oil companies.

Supports American interventionism overseas.

Believes in big government.

Guess what, I'm not talking about Obama. It's the recently retired GOP darling, Sarah Palin!

I feel like today's Right is fawning over her like they did over Ronald Reagan. She talks like a libertarian but, governs like a liberal. She has that small town, folksy appeal and, she's beautiful. There's alot to like, but when you peel back the shiny exterior you find another tax confiscator and big spender. Therein describes much of the GOP today.

Reagan did the same, he talked small government, a return to the gold standard, de-regulation and the like. His results were no where near this. In fact he increased government spending more than his predecessor, Jimmy Carter.

Palin says that now she will campaign for cutting government spending and fiscal conservatism. Right.....

All while she continues the tradition of beating the dead horse of Old Right Conservatism into the ground.

right to defense EXCEPT when offender is the State

A man gets shot by an intruder on his own land, the killer publicly admits to it and walks away scot free.

You may think to yourself, is this bizarro world? Almost!

Home invasions have been the big story in many metro areas across the country. A home invasion usually involves crooks busting into property and making a mad dash for valuables during broad daylight.

The question is, what if that invader is the State? Well, here's the answer: If the State is the invader, the State gets free reign and suffers virtually no consequences.

Clyde Coffey hunts on his own private property and had likely done so for years. He sees an unknown man on his land and shoots him.

Officer Mike Minton of the Wildlife Commission was "checking for hunting licenses, bag limits and bait traps" on Coffey's private property. Is this not trespassing? Only if you are not employed by the State.

Coffey then demands that the tax devourer leave his property. This alone should have prompted Minton to leave. But, since his employed with the State, he is not considered a trespasser.

This story got little traction in the mainstream media because it would question the government.

But a story of a man getting killed by an intruder and that intruder being cleared is not news?

God bless Clyde Coffey and his family.

The okey doke..

When I was growing up, the okey doke was a term used for something that one knew was false but was being perpetrated as true.

For example, the American people were given the "okey doke" on Iraq's WMD threats.

Today, republicans are now trying to portray themselves as the party of limited government, controlled government spending, liberty and all-around libertarians.

Thats called the okey doke.

If you look closely you'll so no real policy change coming from the republicans. I see nothing about abolishing the funny money Federal Reserve, bringing our troops home from our overseas empire, quitting the ill-fated "war on drugs", etc etc. I see no major republican operative or elected official publicly calling for any major changes. They cant do it because they'd be insulting their beloved W. Bush.

All I hear is vague "we're spending too much", "too much debt" and "we need to cut taxes." I see it as willfull ignorance.

The questions I want answered are, "what things do we cut?" "How did we get into so much debt?"

Unfortunately we wont see these answered, save for Ron Paul.

The time is ripe for a third party to fill the void! Will it be the Libertarian party? The Constitution party? Come on guys lets do this!

Holy living...

I'm a big proponent of Holy living. I believe that this concept is the most important part of a Christian's walk with Christ.

A Holy life to me is one which is dedicated to following Christ's commands and NOT practicing a life of sin.

Stumbling into sin is something totally different. Everyone falls sometimes, but they get up, ask for forgiveness and keep going.

A holy life is the proof that one actually believes in Christ! Christ himself said that anyone who loves him obeys his commands.

I believe avoiding sin is the best way to keep from sinning.

Republican transition

I was one of those who were fooled by the Republican revolution's, "compassionate conservatism" when Bush 2 was running for president.

Back then, I felt that banning abortion and a constitutional amendment against homosexual marriage were the 2 most important things ever.

While I am still against abortion and against homosexual marriage, I now know that the government cannot and will not solve these problems. But let me be clear, I know that HUMAN government as we know it today cannot and will not solve these problems.

Its funny to me to see all of these former republican cheerleaders NOW on the side of liberty. Folks like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Mike Savage, etc., are now on the lookout for the new world order. For some reason, they have no idea that they were some of the busiest constructors of this monstrosity. All of these guys were pro-Iraq War, Pro-Patriot Act., Pro-constitution shredding. I think the only reason they are now on liberty's side is because it pays well, today. This will continue until a Republican is back in the presidency. Then its back to the same 'ol same 'ol.

I believe God blessed this country as he has many others. He has allowed this nation to exist and allowed us to create a near perfect form of government. We've been spared from the worst of the dictatorships and bloody wars for the most part. But, as Israel and countless other nations have done, we squandered our own blessings.

I am a believer in Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ will return one day, maybe sooner than later, and set up his kingdom on this earth. It destined to spread throughout the universe. I doubt there'll be any discussion of abortion, gay marriage, a constitution or anything of the sort.

I cant wait!

How come the Church is so silent?

What is a bailout?

It's the government and its sponsored agencies determining that a certain company or companies cannot be allowed to file bankruptcy and/or collapse and it determines to make money (stolen, fiat money) available to those companies to avert their collapse.

AIG is one such company. They made some bad bets in the bond market and lost a ton of money. They were threatened with bankruptcy but lo and behold, the government stepped in and gave them $85 bln. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122156561931242905.html

Now, bear in mind, the government has no money of its own. In fact the government is running huge deficits. So where do they get the money you ask? They create it, the borrow it or tax it to the people. In a nutshell, the taxpayer is paying for it.

Some companies do not get bailed out, like Lehman Bros. They failed and filed bankruptcy.

Today, the BIG 3 automakers, Ford, GM and Chrysler are all waiting hat in hand, for a lifeline from the government. How did they get to this point? Let's see, poor sales, high costs, burdensome pensions and healthcare liabilities. Again, bad bets. It's likely that they will get a bailout though, some way or another. There's no way our big 'ol government will let these 3 pillars of American Manufacturing go to bankruptcy.

Stolen money, lies galore....and where is the Church? SILENT.....

We heard the church loud and clear against abortion (or should I say killing fetuses, not Iraqi's), against homosexual marriage and rightly so, but why not against stealing money? Why not against diluting and debasing currency?
There are more verses against debasing currency than there are against abortion and homosexuality combined!

Just a sampling:

Lev 19:16: Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt.
Leviticus 19:35: Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity. Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt.
Deuteronomy: 25: 13: Do not have two differing measures in your bag – one heavy, one light. 14: Do not have two differing measures in your house – one large, one small. 15: You must have accurate weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. 16: For the Lord your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly.
Proverbs 11:1 The Lord abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight.
Proverbs 16:11: Honest scales and balances are from the Lord; all the weights in the bag are of his making.
Proverbs 20:10: Differing weights and measures – the Lord detests them both.
Amos 8:4-5: Hear this, you who trample the needy and do away with the poor of the land, saying, When will the New Moon be over that we may sell grain, and the Sabbath be ended that we may market wheat? Skimping the measure, boosting the price and cheating with dishonest scales, buying the poor with silver and the needy for a pair of sandals, selling even the sweepings with the wheat.
Hosea 12:7: The merchant uses dishonest scales, he loves to defraud.
Micah 6:10-11: Am I still to forget, O wicked house, your ill-gotten treasures and the short ephah, which is accursed? 11: Shall I acquit a man with dishonest scales, with a bag of false weights?

I'm still waiting for the church to get its act together regarding these issues. I want to see someone like Rick Warren speak out fervently against these bailouts, the actions of the federal reserve and injustice of the income tax.

I'd love to see PAt Robertson say something crazy like, "The federal reserve is illegal!"

Doubt that'll happen though.
